SOL
Our Sun is not a star. Its a Pulsar with a long time span between pulses.
Every 12,000 years it starts to heat up in preparation to send out a Pulse.
Every year it gets hotter and hotter and hotter.
The first planet closest to Sol, is Sunklur.
Sunklur had humanoids on it at one time. But when Sol started to pulse, it destroyed everything and the few people left had to rebuild.
The first pulse was mild and only made Sunklur warmer then usual, 12,000 yrs later, the second pulse became slightly destructive. The people of Sunklur started to take notice. The 3rd pulse was very destructive and the Sunklurians decided to use the remaining 12,000 yrs to prepare to move to the next planet over, Isis.
Isis was empty when the people from Sunklur arrived. It was a much larger planet and the Sunklurians rebuilt majestically.
But once again just like on Sunklur, Isis started to warm up every 12,000 yrs. So they knew theyd have to leave for the next planet over, Ki. But they knew they couldnt take everyone.......
